Dr Phil Dart is a specialist anaesthetist based in Perth, Western Australia.

He completed his undergraduate training at St George's hospital medical school, University of London, graduating in 2008. He trained in anaesthesia in London, beginning training in 2012. His training was at the South East London school of anaesthesia based out of the St Guy's, King's College and St Thomas' hospitals group. He moved to Perth permanently in 2021 and attained Fellowship of the college of Anaesthetists of New Zealand and Australia in 2022.

He has experience in all aspects of anaesthetic care including pain management, resuscitation, intensive care and managing medical emergencies. Furthermore, he has specific interests in orthopaedic and spine surgery, major abdominal and transplant anaesthesia and paediatric anaesthesia. He has undertaken fellowships in a range of sub-specialty anaesthetic disciplines. He trained in regional anaesthesia (numbing specific parts of the body to allow for pain free surgery) through the Fiona Stanley/Fremantle hospital group. Through King's college hospital London (the UK's foremost liver transplant centre) he trained in anaesthesia for upper GI, hepatobiliary and liver surgery. He also trained in paediatric anaesthesia over two fellowships in Great Ormond Street, London, and Perth Children's Hospital.

Phil currently holds a tertiary public appointment at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital group and has previously worked as a consultant at Perth Children’s Hospital. He is a member of the upper GI/hepatobiliary team and is lead for paediatric anaesthesia at FSH.

Dr Dart will always see and speak with you prior to your surgery. For most patients this will be on the day of surgery following a review of the health questionnaire that will be sent to you before your operation. If you have any complex medical issues or any particular concerns, Phil is more than happy to discuss these pre-operatively by phone, videocall or in the rooms.  His main aim is to ensure that your surgical experience is as safe, comfortable and stress free as possible.
