Dr Julie Ng is a specialist neuro-anaesthetist who enjoys a diverse clinical practice. Her professional interests include neuro-anaesthesia, vascular surgery, anaesthesia for cardiological procedures and orthopaedics.

Born in Perth, she graduated from Methodist Ladies’ College in 1994 and was awarded Best All Round Achievement in year 12. In 2000 she graduated with MBBS Honours from the University of Western Australia and received the Royal Perth clinical association prize (4th year medicine) and the Helen Jane Lamard Prize in Medicine in her final year. Julie completed her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2009 at the Alfred hospital in Sydney.

Julie has worked in a variety of tertiary institutions in Australia and abroad. In 2009-2011 she worked as an Attending Anaesthesiologist at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). At UCSF she gained further subspecialty experience in neuro-anaesthesia under the mentorship of Professor Adrian Gelb. In 2011-2015 she held public hospital appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter Mac Callum Cancer Centre and the Alfred Hospital.

Julie currently works in private practice. Outside of work she is a married mother of two boys (and two dogs) and enjoys playing music and an active life style with family and friends.
